January 2010: I recently completed a music video shot last spring in Berlin. Check it out here!!
This video and a load of other work is part of a show at Noble & Superior Projects opening January 29th!
October 2009: The last few months have been a whirlwind!!
In brief, I've opened a new gallery in Chicago along with someone from the Arts Administration department at SAIC,
I've worked on some new videos for a project to be shown in January titled "M155 4m3r1c4",
I built the first in a series of MiniSynths. Here are a video and a photo.
I've shot a few additional projects on film and video including this one which has led to the start of a new project about access and socioeconomic status.
Things are pretty busy but there's lots of excitement, good press for the gallery, and I'm getting good feedback for my work!!
august 2009: I recently put together a sort of reel to introduce my work to my fellow MFA students at SAIC
I also uploaded a video of a prototype of another new instrument that I built this month.
Check it out here.
june 2009: I just completed a short film based on ideas/concerns addressed in 2008's "i know no time when we were not as now"
I also uploaded a video of a new instrument that I built for my May tour.
Check it out here.
may 2009: Here
and here are a couple of photos from
my recent tour with jets and snakes. I performed a few new songs,
which can be found here.
april 2009: Going on tour with jets and snakes throughout late april/early may.
Click here for more information .
march 2009: I recently made a music video for a song from an as-yet-untitled LP. Click here to see it.
I've also finished the first in a series of installation/grafitti projects. The results can be seen here and here.
Briefly, my attempt was to make politically ambiguous statements with politicized imagery. My question is, approximately, does popular culture allow
an image which seems inherently political to be sucessfully used for apolitical purposes, or at least a purpose far removed from its most common
political context. Can politically ambiguous statements be made in a general sense? Does this project successfully address these issues??
feb 2009: I've been asked to participate in this project and will be presenting this work, printed about 7 feet high
and displayed in the Mitte neighborhood of Berlin. Exciting!
jan 2009: Putting together some photo sets to accompany a feature length film I'm working on. Click here and here for one set or
here to download all tentative sets.
nov 2008: I'm currently on a brief vacation from work following the opening of "Choking Under Pressure" at
Pool Gallery,
which I worked on paintings, sculpture and installation for. In just a week since opening, I've gotten about a dozen songs started
for an as yet
untitled album. Check out one, two, three or four unmixed, unfinished ideas that are kicking around.
sept 2008: Here are images from a group show that I participated in with a project entitled "a brief ethnographic study of the Belchertown State School for the Feeble Minded"
